The ArchTerr Project—A GIS-Based Integrated System for Cultural and Archaeological Heritage Protection (Pilot Phase Tested in Romania)

This paper presents the results of an experimental-demonstrative research project summarizing three integrated products: interactive digital map; a reference and record keeping database system; set procedures to enforce unified application archaeological heritage protection legislation in Romania. The web-based constitutes permanent working tool available Romanian Ministry Culture territorial branch offices, is freely accessible specialists other entities involved heritage, even private investors interested development on land areas having heritage. brings together organization, systematization, digitization all information about sites at national level. otherwise difficult access because it structured differently terms quantity quality data, stored using different media formats several types non-interconnected institutions.
